C. R. Ashbee for The Guild of Handicraft, attributed

An early pair of hand-wrought iron fire dogs with inset copper hearts to the tops. Very fine blacksmiths work with hand-hammered flat flower heads flowing down to frame the central spearhead and scroll decoration, coming back in to form the legs that have a hammer joined ending, with tight scrolled ends to the feet, finished off with little brass balls.
