Expertly crafted with hand-stitched soles and button-fastening uppers, they retain their original form with minimal wear, suggesting they were rarely used. The shoes display fine cobbler’s work typical of 19th-century children’s footwear, with natural patination that enhances their authenticity. Pieces of this type were often keepsakes symbolising early childhood and the artisanal quality of domestic leatherwork in the late Victorian era.
