This Arts and Crafts Vaseline glass shade was produced around 1900 and reflects the Aesthetic Naturalism of the period, where organic form and subtle colour harmonies defined decorative glass design. The shade displays stylised floral details in flowing opaline blue within a translucent uranium-tinted body, the surface glowing faintly under UV light.
Such shades were typical of British and continental workshops inspired by the Art Nouveau aesthetic, blending artistry with the technical innovation of Vaseline and uranium glass.
