An Aesthetic Movement ebonized clock

with finely carved decoration, the clock movement is by Edwards & Sons with a pair of carved devices below and a blue and white floral ceramic border.

The finely fretted decoration to the base is identical to the Lewis Foreman Day clock also made by Howell & Sons held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Accession number CIRC.662-1972.
