Arts and Crafts, c.1900 Ribbed Vaseline Glass Shade with Ruffled Rim
£450
A ribbed Vaseline glass shade dating to c.1900, designed in the Arts and Crafts Movement style. The flared form rises from a narrow neck to a deeply ruffled rim, the body mould-blown with vertical ribbing that enhances the opalescent tone of the glass. The shade has a fitting aperture measuring 6 cm / 2.36 in in diameter, suitable for pendant or wall mounting. Its iridescent surface displays the luminous quality typical of early uranium glass, a hallmark of fine British craftsmanship around the turn of the twentieth century.
Diameter: 6.1 in (15.5 cm)
