Shapland & Petter, Set of Four Arts and Crafts Oak Dining Chairs

£1,400 / set

A set of four oak dining chairs designed and produced by Shapland & Petter (active 1888–1930), leading exponents of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Each chair features a high arched back with pierced circular motif and vertical slats above a rectangular seat upholstered in green leather. The crisp joinery and restrained decorative detailing typify the firm’s balance of craftsmanship and lightness of design. A fine and practical example of English Arts and Crafts furniture from the early 20th century.
