William Birch – Large Arts & Crafts Oak Side Table
£2,200
Side table in oak, aligned to the Arts and Crafts Movement, c.1900. A generously scaled top sits above pierced apron panels with yin-yang roundels, creating rhythm and light through the carcase. The legs are lightly splayed and ring turned, giving stability and lift while keeping the silhouette spare. The rectangular plan works well beside a sofa, in a hall, or as an occasional writing surface. Birch’s workshop idiom is evident in the frank joinery, the honest material expression, and the restrained ornament that privileges structure over display.
