This archive brings together a selection of important E. W. Godwin and attributed Godwin pieces previously handled by Tony Geering and Puritan Values.
Tony has been collecting and researching Godwin’s furniture for almost 40 years, with a particular focus on his Anglo-Japanese, Aesthetic Movement and reformist furniture designs. Many of the works shown here represent the type of rare, advanced and historically significant Godwin furniture that has passed through Puritan Values over the years.
The archive is intended as a record of notable sold pieces, design comparisons and important examples connected to Godwin’s wider influence on late Victorian furniture, the Aesthetic Movement and the development of modern design. It also reflects Tony’s long-standing commitment to rediscovering, documenting and placing Godwin’s work within its proper historical context.
