William Walker & Sons (c. 1830s – c. 1890) was a London cabinetmaking and upholstery firm. Founded by William Walker in Marylebone, it later expanded to a larger showroom in Bunhill Row, Shoreditch, then the hub of the Victorian furniture trade. The workshop produced finely crafted chairs, cabinets, and upholstered pieces in revival styles such as Gothic, Renaissance, and Chippendale. Surviving examples show meticulous joinery, rich carving, and quality timbers like walnut and mahogany. Offering both bespoke commissions and catalogue ranges, the firm served an affluent clientele who valued reliability, tasteful design, and solid construction. Although it closed near the end of the nineteenth century, William Walker & Sons is still appreciated for its craftsmanship and its contribution to Victorian London’s furniture industry.
