Aesthetic Movement, c.1885. A cast brass trivet in the form of a stylised peacock with a fan-shaped tail composed of radiating feathers terminating in heart motifs. The surface displays finely chased and moulded detailing, exemplifying the decorative naturalism central to the Aesthetic Movement. The design balances symbolic elegance with practical craftsmanship, typical of the period’s domestic metalwork.
