Arts and Crafts – Hand-Hammered Brass Mirror with Celtic Details (c.1900)

£800

An Arts and Crafts brass hand-hammered mirror with Celtic style roundels and original bevelled glass, made circa 1900, finely worked and evenly patinated.

This brass mirror belongs to the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), reflecting the emphasis on hand craftsmanship and symbolic ornament characteristic of the period. The oval frame is hammered by hand, the surface decorated with four raised Celtic style medallions placed at the cardinal points, each formed in low relief with interlaced motifs.

The mirror retains its original bevelled glass and shows even patination throughout, the metal surface catching light with a soft reflective tone.
