Arts and Crafts Hammered Copper Fire Bucket with Sunflower Rim c.1900
£650
Hand-worked copper fire bucket aligned to the Arts and Crafts movement, c.1900–1910 in character. The cylindrical body is seamed and planished with a boldly lobed “sunflower” rim hand-formed from the sheet. Twin cast handles sit on applied pads with domed rivets, and the bucket stands on a separate ring foot for stability. Traces of a pale internal coating suggest historic tinning to protect the interior. Honest, robust metalwork of the type produced by British workshops in the period, practical by the hearth for kindling or coal.
