Tony’s French Château Restoration – A Documentary Trailer
Join Tony Geering and his team on an extraordinary restoration journey in Northern France, bringing back to life a vast Anglo-Japanese style period château long overgrown by forgotten gardens and almost lost to time. Purchased and first filmed in 2019, this project chronicles years of meticulous work to restore an architectural treasure.
Known originally as La Maison des Fleurs, or “The House of Flowers,” the château was designed during the height of the Anglo-Japanese movement which influenced decorative arts and architecture across Europe from the 1860s onward. Built in the late 19th century by master craftsmen for one of the era’s leading industrial magnates, the property spans 650 square metres, divided into more than forty rooms, and is set within four acres of historic parkland. It includes a Summer House, a Dove Cote, and the remains of a Japanese Tea House complete with its own private train platform.
This documentary follows a demanding restoration filled with passion, determination, setbacks, triumphs, and moments of genuine jeopardy. It captures the ongoing effort to return this rare Anglo-Japanese architectural gem to its former glory.
