Edward William Godwin. A rare and important Anglo-Japanese walnut and silk fire screen in the Japanese Torii Gate style. It features a silk Japanese village scene to the front. Although worn, the back showcases peacock designs within circles in the same style as Godwin designed for Jeffrey & Co., including the kissing birds he also designed in a circle formation.
