An Aesthetic Movement Walnut metamorphic coal box. The handle, when pulled back, mechanically opens the two doors to the front. The doors have brass panels depicting Herons eating fish in a river scene, with bullrushes and birds above them. The original internal tin liner has worn through and could easily be restored by a competent metal worker.
