By Bruce Talbert, probably for Gillows & Co, chaise lounge or day bed in oak, Aesthetic Movement (1860–1890), c.1880, English, Victorian. Generous proportions with a single scroll end and a long upholstered platform, designed for use in a drawing room, bedroom, or library.

The back and side are formed with a cylindrical bolster rail above a run of turned spindles, the upper gallery finished with carved and pierced detailing typical of Talbert’s designs. The scroll end is centred by a carved rosette roundel to the outer upright, and the whole is raised on turned legs with brass castors.
