By Bruce James Talbert for Gillow & Co, a two-drawer oak writing table aligned to the Gothic Revival movement (c.1860–1890), c.1880. Rectangular moulded top with a later gilt-tooled red leather inset above a reeded frieze housing twin drawers with brass ring handles.
Squared corner blocks and turned legs with stop-fluting stand on bun feet, united by an H-stretcher for rigidity. The drawer shows Gillow’s stamp and order number L9534, supporting manufacture by Gillow & Co during the later Victorian Gothic Revival.
