E. W. Godwin In the Style of – Aesthetic Movement Ebonised Side Table

£1,200

In the style of Edward William Godwin, an ebonised side table aligned to the Aesthetic Movement (1860–1900), c.1885. The square top sits over a matching undertier on four ring-turned legs; rectilinear lattice stretchers brace the frame; small turned feet complete the profile. The pared geometry, ebonised finish and Anglo-Japanese vocabulary reflect late nineteenth-century domestic furniture.
Features including slender turned supports, an elevated lower shelf and graphic gridwork.

After a design by Edward William Godwin (1833-86).
