Mid-Century, c.1950 Glass and Copper Jewellery Box with Hand-Hammered Ship Lid

£280

A glass and copper jewellery box dating to c.1950, produced in the Mid-Century Modern period. The rectangular glass body is fitted with a hand-hammered copper lid featuring a stylised relief of a sailing ship, executed with fine repoussé detailing. The contrast between the clear glass and the richly patinated copper top gives the piece a distinctive sculptural presence. Likely designed as a small dressing-table box, it reflects the mid-century revival of handcrafted metalwork within simple, functional form.
