Romney Green, Attributed – Arts and Crafts Cotswold School Oak Stool

£1,200

By Romney Green, attributed, an oak stool aligned to the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), c.1900, within the Cotswold School idiom. The shallow curving seat is set on four shaped legs joined by a low stretcher frame. Surfaces show hand work throughout, with eased edges and faceted chamfers that catch the light and give the small form a clear graphic profile.

Form and detailing sit comfortably within work associated with Romney Green and his circle, including the saddle to the seat, the pronounced chamfers and the compact rectilinear base. The piece reads as workshop-made furniture in local oak, planned for daily use and built for strength and clarity of line.
