Shapland & Petter – Arts and Crafts oak bedside cabinet

By Shapland & Petter, an oak bedside cabinet aligned to the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), c.1905. Rectangular top with shaped gallery over a front framed by mitred chamfers and a circular panel door inlaid with stylised floral motifs. Slender square legs are braced by side and rear stretchers for stability. Quarter-sawn figure is visible to the oak, typical of the firm’s quality workshop practice.
