Glasgow Style – Oak Side Table with Stylised Cut-outs (c.1900)

POA

An oak side table, Glasgow Style, c.1900. Rectangular form with pierced panels and lower shelf, the stylised cut-outs reflecting early Scottish modernism.

This oak side table, designed in the Glasgow Style c.1900, reflects the emerging Scottish approach to the Arts and Crafts aesthetic, distinguished by geometric restraint and stylised linear ornament. The table stands on tapering legs joined by a fixed undershelf, with pierced side panels incorporating sinuous cut-outs that balance structural integrity with decorative form.

Proportioned for occasional or lamp table use, it retains an even surface tone consistent with age and use.
