Vienna Secession, c.1900 Pair of Brass Brackets Depicting Art Nouveau Maidens

£3,500 / set

A large pair of brass wall brackets dating to c.1900, designed in the Vienna Secession style. Each bracket is cast in relief with the face of a serene maiden framed by long, interlaced hair that flows in rhythmic, geometric curves, an emblematic motif of the Art Nouveau and Secessionist movements. The sculptural treatment and stylised form recall the influence of artists such as Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann, blending organic naturalism with architectural restraint. Exceptional examples of early twentieth-century Austrian decorative metalwork.
