Knut Hesterberg, Attributed – Pair of Heavy-Gauge Chrome and Glass Side Tables
POA
A pair of chrome and glass side tables, Modernist, attributed to Knut Hesterberg, 1970. Each with sculptural tripod base in heavy-gauge chrome.
This pair of side tables, combining chrome and glass, were produced within the Modernist movement in 1970 and are attributed to Knut Hesterberg. Each table presents a circular glass top resting upon a sculptural tripod base of heavy-gauge chromed steel, the intersecting arcs creating a dynamic balance of form and reflection. The use of curved, weight-bearing members without visible fixings typifies Hesterberg’s interest in geometric abstraction and structural clarity.
The visual tension between transparency and mass defines the tables as products of late twentieth-century European modernism, aligning them with Hesterberg’s broader exploration of minimal sculptural design. The surfaces retain their mirrored finish with light evidence of age-related wear. Offered as a matching pair, proportioned for use as occasional or sofa tables.
