Set of Four Oak Arts & Crafts Dining Chairs with Stylised Floral Cut-Outs c.1900
£1,750 / set
This set of four Arts & Crafts oak dining chairs was made around 1900 and embodies the ideals of the Arts & Crafts Movement (1880–1910), where structure, honesty of materials, and natural ornament defined domestic design.
Each chair is constructed in solid plain-sawn oak with a rectangular backrest pierced with stylised floral motifs and paired vertical slats. The upholstered seats rest on straight legs joined by stretchers for stability. The curved crest rail and flowing cut-outs express the hand-carved naturalism typical of late Arts & Crafts furniture, uniting form and decoration in balanced proportion.
The chairs retain their original oak finish with a warm surface patina
