Arts and Crafts Oak Side Table with Moulded Edge and Tapered Legs
£550
This side table in oak reflects the continuing influence of the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), c.1920. The square top has a shallow moulded edge and rests on four tapered legs joined by a rectangular stretcher frame. The rails are neatly jointed, giving strength without heaviness.
The plain-sawn oak surface displays even grain and a mellow tone consistent with hand finishing. Compact and practical in scale, the table embodies the restrained craftsmanship and functional simplicity typical of late Arts and Crafts domestic furniture.
