Margaret Gilmour, attributed. A Glasgow School Brass Planter with Stylised Roses

£1,400

A brass planter attributed to Margaret Gilmour (1860–1942), designed in the Glasgow School style and dating to c.1900. The rectangular form stands on short bracket feet, the sides repoussé worked with stylised rose and heart motifs framed by interlaced stems, characteristic of the Gilmour sisters’ floral metalwork. The planished surface reflects the handcrafted texture prized by the movement, combining decorative refinement with utility. A fine example of early Scottish Arts and Crafts brasswork inspired by organic symbolism.
