A rare set of 50 x Maw & Co. tiles, 'Anglo-Persian' pattern designed by Lewis F Day, with 51 in stock. Width 6" x 6". 35 are all in perfect original condition, while 16 have varying degrees of damage, including small and large chips. Two of the 16 have been broken in half and glued back together, but very well done. Maw & Co. were the largest and probably the greatest tile maker in the world at the time, settled by the bank of the River Severn in Shropshire Jackfield, the epicentre of the late 19th and early 20th-century tile industry.
