Robbins & Co., attributed to Henry Jeckyll – Anglo-Japanese Cast Iron Stand
£1,200
Stick stand in cast iron, of the Aesthetic Movement (1870–1879). Designed in the Anglo-Japanese style, the structure rises in an openwork frame of interlocking geometry above a stepped base. The central medallion and lattice pattern express the ornamental logic characteristic of the Anglo-Japanese idiom.
Produced by Robbins & Co. and co-produced with Barnard Bishop & Barnard, the design is attributed to Henry Jeckyll, whose cast iron work exemplified the refinement and order central to the Aesthetic Movement. The stand unites function and ornament with sculptural precision, the casting sharply defined and the form architecturally composed, presenting a piece of industrial artistry that balances utility with visual harmony.
