Arts and Crafts Brass Three Branch Ceiling Light c.1900
£2,200
Arts and Crafts brass ceiling light produced around c.1900, representing the Arts and Crafts Movement (1880–1910) ideal of refined metalwork and functional form. The piece expresses the movement’s balance between structure and craftsmanship within early twentieth-century domestic lighting.
Constructed in solid cast and spun brass, the light features a turned central finial above a three-branch arrangement with elegant scrolling arms and pendant galleries for shade fittings. Its symmetrical geometry and modest ornament reflect the British vernacular interpretation of Arts and Crafts design, where honest construction defined aesthetic value.
