Price on Application
This item is price on application due to its rarity and importance.
Attributed to E. W. Godwin and made by Collinson & Lock, this walnut six-leg circular centre table aligned to the Aesthetic Movement (circa 1860 to circa 1890), date not stated. The table has shaped radiating under supports with subtle shaped details to the ends.
Stood on finely turned legs united by six upper surrounding stretchers pierced with keyhole style details. The legs unusually follow through and unite to the lower circular shelf, continuing on shaped out swept feet.
We have had a variation, now sold, stamped Collinson & Lock London 3473. * The six legs and six supports underneath the top are reminiscent of the under supports Godwin used on his eight-leg spider table, which also uses high wrap around stretchers.**
