This item is price on application due to its rarity and importance.

Attributed to Edward William Godwin and probably made by Collinson & Lock, this rosewood side table aligned to the Aesthetic Movement (circa 1860 to circa 1890) and Anglo-Japanese taste.

The table has a moulded cloud shaped top above four Japanesque fretted supports. The tapered and flared legs unite to four segmented compartments, each side centred with a carved oval patera above a cross stretcher.

The design is restrained but highly distinctive, with the shaped top, fretted supports, segmented frieze and carved patera giving the table its Anglo-Japanese character.
