Probably made by Liberty & Co in the style of E. W. Godwin, this tall plant stand in ebonised and red painted walnut aligned to the Anglo-Japanese style within Aesthetic Movement (c.1860–1900), c.1885.
The stand is built as a narrow open tower, with four tapering ebonised uprights, a red painted square top and a lower square shelf set within the frame. Angular bracing appears below the upper section and again around the lower stretcher tier, giving the piece a light architectural structure rather than the heavier form of a conventional pedestal.
