This brass ceiling light, made by the General Electric Company (GEC) during the Arts and Crafts movement c.1910, exemplifies the firm’s precision metalwork and early twentieth-century domestic fittings. The design centres on a tall turned and cast brass stem of baluster profile, from which three curved arms extend symmetrically to support pendant lampholders.
Each branch terminates in a lampholder suspended by woven cable finished in period-correct braid. The upper section features a loop and hook for ceiling suspension, while the shaft is composed of alternating turned and moulded sections tapering to a small finial. The brass surface retains a mellow tone consistent with age.
