Guild of Handicraft, attributed. A pair of silver-plated vegetable dishes and covers, designed by C. R. Ashbee, c.1900. Oval in form, with ivory finials attached by chain link to foliate bosses. The pierced handles are shaped as fruiting vine leaves, raised on four small ball supports.

Provenance: Arthur Currer Briggs (1855–1906), Mayor of the City of Leeds (1903–04) and Alderman of the City of Leeds (1904–06), whose holiday home Broad Leys overlooking Lake Windermere was designed by Charles Voysey.
