c.1900. A large Arts and Crafts Vaseline glass shade with wide undulating rim and shallow domed crown. The glass displays a soft opalescent hue with a faint uranium tint that glows under ultraviolet light. Its wavy outline and translucent finish reflect the hand-formed qualities of late Victorian and early Edwardian decorative glass. An elegant example of period lighting design combining material experimentation with naturalistic form.
