C. H. Brannam for Liberty and Co – Art Nouveau Green-Glazed Earthenware Planter

£250

By C. H. Brannam for Liberty and Co, planter in ceramic, aligned to the Art Nouveau movement (1890–1910), c.1900. The compact circular form has a flat top worked with incised, stylised foliage and groups of pierced openings arranged around a central well, reading as a simple arranging surface for stems. Low, rounded side lugs complete the profile while the even green glaze emphasises the linear decoration. The object sits comfortably within British Art Nouveau naturalism, prioritising curvilinear line and surface pattern over applied ornament.
