Gothic Revival Brass Ceiling Light with Pierced Cresting c.1895
£1,500
Gothic Revival brass ceiling light produced around c.1895, representing the continued influence of medieval architectural motifs within late Victorian interior design. During this period, the Gothic Revival (1830–1900) style evolved toward simplified ecclesiastical forms suitable for domestic and institutional lighting.
The chandelier is constructed in solid brass, comprising a circular band pierced with alternating trefoil and fleur-de-lis motifs. The upper section rises through twisted brass supports to a shaped finial with scroll details, while the lower edge terminates in a turned pendant knop.
