Copper plate by the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft from the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), c.1900. The shallow form is hand-hammered with a subtly planished surface and a broad rim decorated in repoussé with stylised floral motifs. Stamped Birmingham Guild Ltd, England, it reflects the guild’s dedication to handcraft and design integrity promoted by its founder Arthur Dixon. The piece exemplifies the workshop’s characteristic union of simple utility, natural ornament, and fine craftsmanship within the British Arts and Crafts tradition.
