By Maw & Co, Benthall Works, Broseley (Salop), an earthenware tile aligned to the Arts and Crafts movement (1880–1910), c.1900. Square dust-pressed body with a central soldier portrait in a roundel surrounded by foliate spandrels, from the Floreat Salopia series that celebrates Shropshire. Printed in a deep green against a dark ground with a clear glaze that gives good depth to the line work.

Minor wear consistent with age, including a tiny edge nick and light surface scratches noted on inspection.
