Morris & Co., designed by Edward Burne Jones in 1861-1862, is a rare Arts and Crafts Pre-Raphaelite hand-painted tile depicting Geoffrey Chaucer's poem, 'Legend of Good Wimmen'. The tile has, at some point, been damaged and is missing a corner, which we have shown in one of the images. It seems reasonable to suggest that this is why a circular frame was specially made for it. The Fiberite packing we found inside the frame dates back to the 1920s or 1930s, so it is likely that this is when the frame was made.
