W. A. S. Benson (stamped). A Silver Plated Hot Water Jug

£350

A silver-plated hot water jug designed and stamped by W. A. S. Benson (1854–1924), one of the leading figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The jug is raised on a circular foot with a tapered body, domed lid, and sweeping handle formed in brass and plated in silver. Its refined geometry and minimal ornament exemplify Benson’s approach to uniting mechanical precision with handmade craftsmanship. The form reflects his belief that domestic metalwork should balance beauty, durability, and honest construction.
