Arts and Crafts copper plant pot with heart frieze c.1905
£150
This plant pot in copper sits within the Arts and Crafts (1880–1910) tradition, c.1905, English. The body is softly swollen with a narrow cordon at the shoulder and a flared rim. Around the belly runs a band of stylised hearts struck in low relief, giving a simple repeating rhythm that reads clearly when placed on a sill or shelf. Scale at a little over four inches high makes a good cover for a small nursery pot, the warm oxide surface pairing well with green foliage.
