A Handwrought Iron & Copper Fire Screen with Stylised Repousse Details
£400
A handwrought iron and copper fire screen aligned to the Arts and Crafts movement (1880 to 1910), c.1900. The riveted frame has arched side uprights, cross rails and small splayed feet. A shield-shaped copper panel sits to the centre with a hammered field and raised repousse bosses, finished with a looped top handle and neatly forged brackets. The honest construction and tactile surfaces are characteristic of late British workshop production.
