Made by Gillows of Lancaster and stamped 'Gillow & Co., 11425' to centre drawer, this Aesthetic Movement oak knee hole desk has an upper gallery with brass turnings.

It has a central oblong mirror below, flanked by a pair of small drawers to each side. A large later tooled green leather writing area, with five further drawers to the knee hole area, all with carved line details that meet the brass drop handles to the centres.

The base has a turned double H style stretcher to each side, giving a full, comfortable amount of legroom between them.
