Vases in green glass with pewter mounts, aligned to Art Nouveau, c.1905. Bulbous ovoid bodies rise to pewter collars worked with little frogs in low relief, the soft modelling and dark metal setting the bright glass off to good effect. Pewter bases ground the forms and echo the rim motifs, while the modest scale suits mantel, bedside or grouped tabletop display. A lively example of animal ornament within Continental Art Nouveau, combining utility with wit.
