Frank Brangwyn, Pencil Signed Colour Lithograph Study of Sailors Aboard Ship

SOLD

A colour lithograph print, 20th century, depicting sailors aboard ship by Sir Frank Brangwyn, R A (1867-1956). The scene is organised in a broad horizontal format, with a small group of figures gathered at the rail and rigging, one partly unclothed, and others wearing caps and dark coats. In the distance, sailing vessels are set on open water, with the horizon carried across the left of the composition. Pencil signed to the margin lower right.

Within 20th-century graphic art, the image sits in a maritime subject tradition, combining narrative figure groupings with simplified ship silhouettes and sweeping sea lines. Suitable for wall display as a single work on paper, particularly in a study, hallway, or library setting.

Further images available on request. The piece is currently held in storage at one of our showrooms.
