William Morris, A classic Sussex Arts & Crafts ebonised armchair from the Sussex range.
Fully restored with a new finely laid rush seat. We have been restoring Sussex armchairs for over 30 years and to be fully restored correctly with a new rush seat, we first gently dismantle the chairs labelling each component, cleaning all the joints, re gluing re assembly and then each chair is clamped overnight until the glue dries.
We have a rush seat specialist who weaves a very fine rush exactly how they were originally rushed, it takes longer but so worth it. Quote : Of all the specific minor improvements in common household objects due to Morris, the rush-seat Sussex chair perhaps takes first place.
