Globe Pottery. A large Aesthetic Movement jug decorated in cobalt blue on a white ground, featuring the Tunis design with flying cranes and stylised bamboo. The decoration reflects the influence of Japanese art on British ceramics during the late nineteenth century, combining asymmetrical composition with naturalistic motifs. Produced by Globe Pottery around 1880, the piece illustrates the period’s fascination with exoticism and refined surface design.
