Pugin Style Large Gothic Revival Oak & Burr Oak Bookcase with Corinthian Columns
POA
In the style of A. W. N. Pugin, probably made by Gillows, this large cavernous, good quality Gothic Revival oak and burr oak bookcase features subtle carved floral details in the upper section, along with Corinthian columns on each upper side. Each shelf is adorned with leaf-style fretwork decoration, which also double as hinged dust covers to protect the spines of books. The lower section breaks forward, offering a full-width open display or storage area, with a central dog kennel below flanked by two cupboards showcasing beautiful figured burr oak. This bookcase breaks down into three sections, with the cornice as one piece and the upper section separating from the lower section.
